15 Tips in Boosting Children Confidence
Are you undermining your child’s potential for their happiness and confidence? Even the most loving parents can unconsciously teach their child ways of thinking that harm to self confidence and give them unrealistic expectations that can lead to unhappiness.
You don’t have to be a perfect parent to raise happy, self confident kids; your LOVE and RESPECT is the number one thing that your children need. With this as your foundation, you can add these tips to your parenting toolbox to give your kids an edge when it comes to feeling great about themselves and the world around them.
Most loving parents already tell their children it’s okay to make mistakes but you can go beyond that to point out all of the positives of not doing things right the first time. Some of our best ideas come from doing things wrong the first time.
Nature is a great teacher and children who are allowed to explore and play outside gain confidence and a sense of being centered in the world. Even small children need some quiet time alone with their thoughts and a half hour in the backyard with just some sticks, pebbles and their imagination helps growing brains develop in a natural way. Supervise them, of course, but let their play be self directed with as few prompts from you as possible.
Some of the best times I’ve had with my children is taking them one on one to a “fancy” restaurant and then on to the theater. With one on one attention, children can often stretch to meet grown up expectations and it’s a good confidence boost to get to do such grown up things every once in a while. And you’ll treasure being able to build such delightful memories with your child.
Talk about how much they’ve grown and learned and what they can do now that they couldn’t when they were small. Most children love hearing stories about when they were little and it gives them a sense of security to know that they were always loved by their parents and those around them.

Save Our Earth !
1. Air
Clean air is important to the health of the planet. Polluted air can make you sick, kill plants, and ruin rivers and lakes. Air pollution can even change the weather by trapping sunlight and its heat close to the ground. What can you do to stop air pollution? Turn out the lights when you don't need them. Keep the temperature in your home a little cooler in the winter and a little warmer in the summer. You can even convince your family to drive the car less often. How does this help? Electricity, heating, air conditioning and car engines are all created or powered by burning fuels like coal or oil. Burning fuels release pollutants that dirty our air.
2. Water
Water is another of Earth's main resources. All living things on Earth need water to survive, but clean, unpolluted water is getting harder to find. Many people waste water or pollute it. How can you save water? Try taking shorter showers or turning off the water while you brush your teeth. Help to keep our water clean.
Tell your family never to throw any trash into a body of water. Convince your family and friends to use Earth-friendly cleaning products. Never pour chemicals like paint or detergents down the sink drain or onto the ground. These chemicals will seep into the ground and into ponds, streams, and other places where we find our drinking water.

What should we do before an exam?
- Create a study or revision plan / timetable. Revision timetables are great because they create a sense of order into what can otherwise feel like a huge ball of chaos. By creating a study plan you will be able to work logically through each of the subjects that you need to revise. This will refresh your memory of the earlier modules that you have taken, and will allow you to really understand the workload ahead of you. In addition, a study or revision timetable allows you to evenly space out each subject area that needs to be revised; you can work out how many modules or subject areas you need to revise or study, then see how many hours worth of available revision time you have, and then finally determine exactly how many hours can be allocated to each module that needs to be revised.
- Complete past exam papers. This is perhaps the best way to revise a subject area. It gets you into the habit of actually answering a set question as opposed to regurgitating everything you know about a particular subject area, and it gives you a feel for the sort of questions the examiners are likely to set.
- Plan some relaxation time into your day. No one works at their best if they don't have an opportunity to take frequent breaks from the task in hand. Whilst it might feel as if you are losing valuable revision time by spending 30 minutes watching the television, that break in your concentration will give your brain a chance to relax, so it will be much more focused when your next revision sessions arrives.
- Talk to other people. If you are stressed, tell others that this is how you are feeling. Often a fear or concern you hold is much worse when you keep it all to yourself. Share your concerns and you'll find that you ultimately feel much better and much more positive about the entire situation.
- Don't lose your confidence. Believe in yourself and in your abilities and all will be fine.
